Project

The UVU Aviation program was purchasing 5 new Piper planes. The Dean reached out to marketing, because an ambitious instructor had designed RED airplanes, stating they had to be red for visibility. Since red would take the program so off-brand, marketing stepped in to find a solution. It required that we, as designers, did our homework to show that statistically, most planes are not red! The right combination of dark, light and bright colors actually made for the best visibility. We followed FAA and Piper guidelines for leaving the roof and belly light in color. The Aviation program has been incredibly proud of their new planes.
