Project

The assignment was to choose an existing business and give them a complete rebrand. We were meant to create a new, refreshed visual identity for our chosen brand, demonstrating it through a new logo, typography system, color palette, and subsequent applications.
I chose the Merrijig Inn, Victoria’s oldest Inn in Port Fairy. Located next to the wharf, the Merrijig is close to all of the historic Port Fairy attractions including galleries, shopping and beaches. They pride themselves on the cosy country feel and homey touches throughout. Tanya in the kitchen takes care and effort to source produce locally and her cooked breakfasts are delicious. Their resident chickens are the star of the show and love hanging out with the guests.
I wanted the rebrand to reflect the Merrijig’s charm, and felt it would be better to represent the inn using a modern approach.
