The design problem presented by this poster is that it needed to convey the chaos of the play that happens both on stage and backstage. It also uses a consistent color scheme to other play posters produced by different designers to support this season.
To create unity within the poster series despite stylistic differences, each poster implemented three to five colors from the same color palette and retained the same dimensions. For the Noises Off poster, in particular, the designer created 3D letters set at alternating angles, with the characters interacting in front of and behind them, to convey the sense of action happening both onstage and backstage. Multiple props from the play are scattered throughout to add to the sense of chaos.
