Professors Brandon Truscott & Ben Evjen from Utah Valley University lead a student trip to the Capitol Reef Field Station in Southern Utah in the summer of 2019. Students received university credit for being enrolled in Art 443R Design Studio. The course of study involved a postmodern approach to analog experimental graphic design practice. We wanted to document the trip to promote the graphic design program at Utah Valley University.
Phase 3 Magazine, Issue number one, entitled, 'Sleeping Rainbow Ranch' was created to document work from the student trip to the Capitol Reef Field Station in Southern Utah in the summer of 2019. Phase 3 Mag is intended to be a yearly collaboration between graphic design students and faculty. Using the student work as content and inspiration Professors Brandon Truscott and Ben Evjen collaborated to design the magazine. It was printed at the Newspaper Club in the UK.
